Hope and faith? They are simply just feelings. Thoughts. Not a person. Then how can they ditch you? Betray you?
In many cultures hope and faith are considered as a god-like feeling. It says that cultivating these two thoughts will increase your human abilities and push them to your limits. Also it gives you more of a human touch than a machinery feeling. To a certain extent it is possible. Beyond that limit, it makes you a stupid-nut-case human. How?

There comes a certain situation or a particular moment in our lives where we become desperate. Since we are very desperate we force our minds to seek for secular powers or secular feelings for help. Just like hope and faith. “But why is it bad to find such powers? We just need help. That’s all”.
Let’s say, hypothetically you seek for such higher powers or such feelings and you wait till you get what you want. By that time you’d have lost many opportunities. Rather than creating opportunities you’ve lost them by simply waiting for it. Is this the ultimate life you want? To keep on seeking, waiting, failing and betrayed by your own feelings? By your so called secular powers? (Not to worry. There’s still hope) Well that’s what we would usually say. To relief ourselves from the bad. Even though nothing is to be seen we still want to believe in hope despite the fact that it could still betray you.
When it comes to faith, some believe in horoscopes or in higher deities* or whatsoever. You lose something and you blame your faith for that. Or you’d just accept that faith did this to you and move on. You misplace your iPhone or your high-end android. You blame your faith and believes. Why? Someone has to take responsibility to what’s happening to our lives. “Oh not us. This was not our fault”. And you continue to do the blame game and pass the ball to someone or something else. This a very pathetic characteristic of humans. We say don’t blame anyone for your own faults and correct yourself from your own mistakes but we still tend to do the opposite. Yet we still surrender our whole life to faith and hope.
How can we overcome this?
How can we overcome this?
A new sheriff is in town. MINDFULNESS! Yes. Mindfulness is the ultimate loyal servant and the ultimate weapon. You devote your life towards hope and faith and achieve sorrow and regret. But when you surrender yourself to your mindfulness, it’ll never ever betray you. It’s the most perfect loyal servant you can ever find. With mindfulness comes an added bonus. The ability to distinguish right and wrong. Or in other words WISDOM. Have these two servants, you’ll be inevitable. No regrets! Not anymore. The days of hoping or waiting till faith corrects you and eventually leads you to disappointments and sorrow are over.
Mindfulness and Wisdom. Wisdom comes with the development of mindfulness. When you are mindful you becomes very focused in every situation. Whenever you try do something you evaluate and analyze that action before implementing it. “Is this good or bad? Is this the correct way? Will anyone get hurt or will they benefit from it?” For an example, you lose your Macbook or your Alienware or your iPhone 6s or your Galaxy Note 5. You blame faith for losing your tech and hope that it’ll come finding you someday. Or wait till it magically appears. But when you have mindfulness as your servant you will never even lose it. At all… You screw up your relationship. You blame faith for ruining your life and hope that the relationship will someday be fixed. But if you were mindful enough, you’d never even screw it up in the first place.
That’s the power of mindfulness. Why would you want to downgrade yourself and keep on seeking for so called higher powers and feelings when you already hold a power so great, that it is collaborated with the only energy that is equal to the universal power? Or in other words your mind? It is time for us to use those rusted and spider webbed cogwheels in our brain.
Surrender yourself to hope and faith and regret when you don’t get what you want or surrender to mindfulness and you will have no regression at all. The choice is YOURS!
* - The term deities that’s mentioned in this article is not referring to any monotheistic or polytheistic religions. It is only mentioning about the “Devas” and “Brahmas” mentioned in Buddhist contexts.
